Break by Alex Eliff

“You can’t fix it,
It isn’t a broken bone”
she says this
the fact that the bend can break
like tree branches
the leaves crushed when they fall

all we do is guide the people who misplaced
the pieces that were never perfect
the wheel might crack but it still has to turn

I see the orange turn to the brown
the brown turn to white dust
wondering if a broken bone is just easier
I walk away

Wonder what it’s like to have a broken bone.
