Seer by Richard Schnap

When he was a child
He would spend hours playing
With Tarot cards and Ouija boards

Believing that they held
A power that would allow him
To foretell the future

Now they lie in his attic
Collecting dust while he sits
Downstairs in his study

Studying the daily listings
Of the stock market reports
Still trying to predict his fate

Richard Schnap is a poet, songwriter and collagist living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His poems have most recently appeared locally, nationally and overseas in a variety of print and online publications.
