School Cycle by Michele Seminara

cool breeze
school starts

squinting at the camera;
to the brick wall

new school

the bell rings –
but how will you hear
my heart beat?

sound proof door:
five years
snaps shut

flushed face,
your fledgling
hand flies home

our breath warm
in bed – you still
smell the same
