Summer Silence by Lurana Brown

there are days, summer days
when the fear quiets down enough to hear
creatures humming out of stillness

the sun does not burn through
the dancing leaves shadow
and the air is generous

there is no ticking in these moments
marked by meaning
thick with remembering

between the fireflies, a different darkness

  1. For me, this verse has a nostalgic tinge to it reminding me of summer evenings with nothing but time and stillness. No distractions from the moment to fill the space. What a great submission!
