Twinbrook by Marianne Szlyk

Deer browse in the space
between
our apartment and the golf course.

The stylist at the day spa
offers to wax
your eye brows into twin tildes.

Tonight we’ll meet up for dim sum
and order scallion
pancakes with a Thousand Year Egg.

One of us will be gone soon.
Brows still unwaxed,
the other will follow.
