Poetry / Poets

Jack London by Marc Carver

You have to empty every thing out
strip yourself
right down to the bone.
Take a good look at yourself
do you like what you see
are you happy being you
if not
you have to change what you are
find a new place
or find no place at all.
I found out about a poet
that left what he had
went into the wilderness
and built a house
from stone and lived in that.
devolving has to be better
if what you have is wrong.
you have to tear it up
and start again
the next time
you may just get what you want.
