Elegy Of Dead Soldiers by Suchoon Mo

why are you still killing     each other?
dead soldiers ask
in the hoarse voice of winter wind
in      the teary voice of summer rain

wild cosmos flowers by the road
bloom and die every year
in silence

Suchoon Mo is a Korean War veteran and a retired academic living in the semiarid part of Colorado. His poems have appeared in a number of cultural and literary publications. His recent poetry chapbook, Frog Mantra, has been published by Accents Publishing of Lexington, Kentucky. He has been nominated for Pushcart twice.
